Vietnam highlights UN Charter's significance in maintaining peace

Ambassador Nguyen Phuong Nga also called on the agency's bodies to uphold the Charter's purpose and principles.

The severity and complexity of these challenges require a determined approach from the United Nations, particularly its main organs including the General Assembly, and the Security Council, in upholding the purposes and principles of the Charter.

Nga said at the Open Debate of the Security Council on "Respect for the principles and purposes of the Charter of the United Nations as a key element for the maintenance of international peace and security" in New York on February 15.
