Quynh Chi works in the field of information technology. She spends up to 10 hours a day using the Internet. During peak hours, she often cannot get online.
Dang Quynh Chi, Internet user in Hanoi said: "Internet speed in the morning is fine. But it gets slow during the afternoon. It’s very hard for trading and exchanging emails".
Whether it’s the cellular or cable network, connectivity is not stable, especially when connecting to foreign websites.
Nguyen Ba Tu, Internet user in Hanoi said: "Sometimes the connectivity is disabled even at work. At home, it’s frustrating when it takes forever to load a movie".
According to related agencies, slow connectivity is due to low broadband over the growth of the Internet users.
Vu Hoang Lien, Chairman of Vietnam Internet Association said: "During peak hours, the broadband is overloaded, so the Internet gets slow. So I think state agencies need to upgrade capacity based on the number of Internet users".
Nguyen Hong Thang, Vice director of Vietnam Internet Center said: "Issues with international cables will affect connectivity to foreign websites. Currently, many companies have expanded and opened new cables. 4G on mobile devices also boosts speed. I think we have to increase bandwidth to improve the Internet speeds in Vietnam".
Statistics from the global information and measurement company Nielsen show that up to 45% of Vietnamese users are not satisfied with the speed of the Internet, especially on mobile devices.
