In Pokemon Go, players can receive free items such as Pokeballs or eggs at PokeStops. These Pokestops are usually public places which are based on data from Google Maps.
However, the number of pokestops is still modest. Therefore, many players use Google Maps Maker to create virtual locations or change the actual locations on the map to increase the number of Pokestops.
This would disturb the location of real places and reduce the accuracy of Google Map data. According to Google Map Maker Vietnam, the team has rejected thousands of requests from Pokemon Go players for approval of new locations. In the coming time, they will lock accounts of those who create virtual locations or change locations on Google Maps.
