The comments were made in the Italian capital of Rome while receiving the credentials of Vietnamese Ambassador to the WFP Cao Chinh Thien.
The organisation has called for Vietnam’s further contributions to WFP policy-making and experience-sharing on the efficient use of WFP aid and natural disaster mitigation efforts by sending Vietnamese experts to engage in WFP’s activities when asked.
The WFP currently is the largest source of non-refundable aid among the United Nations members for less developed countries.
