At the talks, the two leaders agreed to speed up progress of joint projects on ODA, culture, education and training, science and technology and pledged to create a favourable environment for businesses.
The two sides have set a target of 2 billion USD in two-way trade turnover by the end of this year. The two leaders also urged relevant agencies from both countries to effectively implement the Vietnam-Laos Memorandum of Understanding on co-operation in transport in the 2016-2025 period with a vision towards 2030 signed during PM Dung’s working trip to Laos.
Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung also pledged that Vietnam would do its utmost to assist Laos while it was ASEAN Chair in 2016.
