The majority of National Assembly deputies agreed that referendums should only be conducted nationwide, not in localities. The draft law also stipulates that referendums should be carried out for issues relating to the Constitution or issues of great importance relating to national sovereignty or the nation’s socio-economic situation.
In order to help the public participate in referendums, deputies stressed the importance of legislation in promoting involvement. Furthermore, an overview and assessment of referendum options should be clearly outlined so that the public can make an informed decision.
