Government receives regular press conference

The media posed questions related to personnel issues, including the sudden appointment of the director of planning and investment in Quảng Nam, and the case of 10 relatives being appointed to various positions in Hanoi’s Mỹ Đức district. More to follow.

One issue posed at the conference was the appointment of Mr. Lê Phước Hoài Bảo as director of Planning and Investment in Quảng Nam Province after only 5 months serving as deputy director. In response to the question, the Deputy Minister of Home Affairs said that staff have been sent to Quảng Nam to confirm that the appointment has followed procedure.

The Deputy Minister also said that, besides government provisions, local authorities can require additional criteria, as long as it is within the legal framework. The case of a Mỹ Đức authority’s 10 relatives being appointed to various positions in the region was also raised by the press.

Government Office Chair Nguyễn Văn Nên also affirmed that the Party and State have set forth specific regulations and standards. Authorities will implement these in an objective manner to ensure democracy and transparency.
