A meeting of National Assembly deputies for Ho Chi Minh City took place on Monday. Politburo member and Secretary of the municipal Party Committee Le Thanh Hai, former Prime Minister Phan Van Khai and over 250 deputies from various tenures of the National Assembly attended the event. Deputies of Ho Chi Minh City and southern regions recalled the memories of the first general election.
For the last 13 National Assembly tenures, generations of deputies have fulfilled their duty as elected representatives. Secretary Le Thanh Hai highlighted the contribution of generations of deputies over the last 70 years. He also expressed his hope that current National Assembly deputies would continue playing their part in promoting the socio-economic development of Ho Chi Minh City.
A meeting of National Assembly deputies for the northern city of Ninh Bình also took place on Monday morning. Politburo member and Minister of Public Security Tran Dai Quang, former National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Van An, as well as many governmental officials attended the event.
General Tran Dai Quang underlined the consolidation of the National Assembly in the last 70 years and called on Ninh Binh’s deputies to take on more administrative tasks at all levels. In the last 70 years, over 70 Ninh Binh National Assembly deputies were elected to contribute to the work of the National Assembly.
