Under the party’s leadership, Vietnam had quickly overcome poverty and backwardness to enter the current era of international integration.
One can never forget the dark pages of Vietnam’s history before the August Revolution, just as one will forever remember how the Communist Party of Vietnam fought, under the leadership of President Ho Chi Minh, for the country’s independence and led the population to a better life.
According to Associate Professor Nguyễn Mạnh Hà, the Communist Party of Vietnam has always struggled on behalf of the country’s people. So the success of the party in the past 86 years has served nothing but the best interests of the people and the country.
"The people all followed the party’s political credo because of no other reason than that they saw their interests being fulfilled along with their responsibilities. Without the people, there would’ve been no August Revolution. Without the people, the party wouldn’t have defeated the French and the Americans!", Assoc. Prof Dr. Nguyen Manh Ha, Dean of the Faculty of Party History, Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, said.
For the past 86 years and recently at the 12th National Party Congress, the party remained determining to continue serving the people and regard the people as its own foundation. Many believe that, such consistency combined with a clearer economic development direction with more emphases on the private sector will create a strong basis for a new reformation era.
In years to come, the party will only pursue one single goal: striving for the betterment of people’s lives, strengthening the country and creating a more democratic and civilised society.
