HÀ NỘI — The Vietnam Post and Telecommunications Group (VNPT) is targeting an increase of 15 per cent in profit in 2017 compared with 2016, Phạm Đức Long, General Director of VNPT, said.
The group is aiming at a 8 per-cent increase in its revenue in 2017 against the previous year, Long said, adding that its total State budget contribution in 2017 is also expected to exceed the amount in 2016.
VNPT’s profit reached nearly VNĐ4.4 trillion (US$193 million) in 2016, an increase of 20 per cent year-on-year and 2 per cent of the annual plan. The group’s labour productivity rose by 1.26 times compared with 2015.
In 2016, VNPT added 6.5 million new mobile subscribers, bringing the group’s total number of telephone subscribers to 38.6 million, including 31.6 million Vinaphone subscribers. — VNS
