-- Many doctors and nurses have been exposed to HIV after providing emergency treatment for the victims in a fatal collision between two coaches in the Central Highlands province of Kon Tum on the weekend.

-- The People’s Committee in the north-central Vietnamese province of Quang Tri has approved the proposal of AirCraft Company Viet Nam - Germany GBR to develop a 100 megawatt solar power project at a cost of US$200 million, which will be funded by Germany’s KfW Development Bank.

-- The Ministry of Public Security is working with the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Justice to set up an auction mechanism for license plates, which will then be submitted to the prime minister for approval.

-- Police in the Mekong Delta province of Ben Tre on Sunday arrested two suspects who had snatched gold necklaces from several people on the morning of the same day.

-- A flyover on Truong Son Street in Tan Binh District and another at the Nguyen Thai Son Roundabout in Go Vap District are open to traffic today, expected to ease congestion at the entrances to Tan Son Nhat International Airport.   

-- A fire broke out at a night market on Phu Quoc, a popular tourist island off the southern province of Kien Giang, at around 3:00 am on Monday, burning down some 10 stands. The blaze was put out at 5:30 am the same day.

 

-- Vietnam’s Ministry of Finance has proposed that environmental tax for oil and gas be doubled, in an effort to encourage citizens to use alternative energy for a better environment.

-- The number of passengers using express boats from Ho Chi Minh City to the southern beach city of Vung Tau has been increasing, according to the Ho Chi Minh City Maritime Administration.
