Vietnam’s total retail sales of goods and consumer service revenue in January was estimated at 632.4 trillion VND (24.43 billion USD), up 2.6% month-on-month and 9.3% year-on-year, according to newly released data from the National Statistics Office (NSO) under the Ministry of Finance.
The country's industrial growth in the period was largely fuelled by the manufacturing and processing sector, which expanded by 10.3% and contributed 8.5 percentage points to the overall IIP.
Findings from a recent business sentiment survey conducted by the NSO under the Ministry of Finance show that 37.3% of businesses expect better performance in Q3, while 43.5% forecast steady operations.
