The suggestion was made by Politburo member cum Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Nguyen Van Nen during a meeting between the city leaders, the local Youth Union’s officials and its outstanding members on March 29.
Speaking at the meeting, Politburo member Nen highly praised the activities of the city’s Youth Union in recent years.
He stated that the southern economic hub has set the target of becoming a smart city by 2025, while keeping its position as a leading economic and innovation centre in the country.
To achieve that goal, the senior official expressed his wish that the city’s Youth Union members and organisations would spread their willing spirit and aspiration, as well as promoting their knowledge and bravery to contribute to the overall development of the city.
He also urged local youngsters to offer suggestions and specific solutions on science - technology and urban government implementation to the city’s authorities at all levels.
