Delegates at the conference reviewed Vietnam's commitments and finished the timetable for implementing the remaining commitments. These include details about missions and working processes between the customs, border guards, animal and plants inspection agencies and immigration department.
These agencies will support the facilitation of trade between Vietnam and WTO countries, to minimise difficulties at border gates. The agreement is the result of 10 years of negotiations, which were finalised in 2013. Vietnam became the 60th country to ratify the trade facilitation in early 2015. The agreement will take effect at the start of 2017.
