The event attracted the participation of 40 people who have been engaged in teaching Vietnamese to overseas Vietnamese (OVs) in Cambodia, Laos, Thailand, Chinese Taipei, Switzerland, Canada, France, the Czech Republic, Germany, Poland, Bulgaria, Hungary, and Romania.
Addressing the opening ceremony, Deputy Foreign Minister and Chairman of the State Committee on Overseas Vietnamese Affairs (COVA) Vu Hong Nam said his agency and the Ministry of Education and Training have co-hosted similar courses since 2013 to provide manpower for growing learning demand abroad.
The workshop provided a great opportunity for participants to share their experiences in teaching Vietnamese to overseas Vietnamese and foreigners and support the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and related agencies to put in place effective measures to boost Vietnamese teaching and studying.
