The 500 billion VND (20 million USD) project has a total length of 18.7 kilometres, including 1.2 kilometres in neighbouring Da Nang, and is scheduled for completion in the fourth quarter of 2025.
According to Nguyen Xuan Ha, Vice Chairman of Dien Ban Town, the northern belt road will connect National Highway 14B to Lac Long Quan Street, and improve transport connectivity with Da Nang and Quang Nam’s northern coastal area.
The new road is also expected to open spaces for urban development in the north of Quang Nam Province and promote socio-economic development in the western area of Dien Ban.
Speaking at the ground-breaking ceremony, Quang Nam Vice Chairman Tran Nam Hung said the belt road would facilitate the people’s travel and commerce activities.
He asked Dien Ban Town to research the development of industry, services and urban areas along the new road to promote the local economy.
