VTV.vn - Professor and Doctor Trinh Quang Phu, Director of the Oriental Research Development Institute, has released a book entitled ‘Theo Dau Chan Nguoi’ (Following his Footprints), which chronicles President Ho Chi Minh’s 30-year journey abroad.

A ceremony was held by the Vietnam Writers’ Association Publishing House to introduce the book in Hanoi on August 26.

The 600-page book features the great journey of President Ho Chi Minh from June 5, 1914, when President Ho, under the name Nguyen Tat Thanh, left Nha Rong Wharf to travel to France, the US, the UK, the Soviet Union, and China to seek out ways to achieve national salvation, until he finally returned Vietnam’s Cao Bang Province to lead the Vietnamese revolution on January 28, 1941.

Prof. Dr. Trinh Quang Phu was born in 1940 in Tuy An District, Phu Yen Province. He is the author of many books on Uncle Ho, the most popular of which is ‘Tu Lang Sen Den Ben Nha Rong’ (From Sen Village to Nha Rong Wharf), which was honoured with the A prize of the 2023 Awards on Studying and Following President Ho Chi Minh’s Ideology, Morality, and Lifestyle.

Speaking at the ceremony, poet Nguyen Quang Thieu, Chairman of Vietnam Writers’ Association hailed that the book provides a deeper look into the great President Ho Chi Minh.

The book shows the magic of literature by allowing readers to travel back to the past to live in the time of President Ho through pages of book, he stressed.

For his part, Phu said that he travelled to countries that President Ho set foot in to collect documents and references for the book. Wherever he visited, he could feel the respect of the people in the host countries for the great Vietnamese leader.

He expressed his hope that the book will provide readers with useful information about the life and revolutionary career of our beloved Uncle Ho.
