The decision was made after a heavy downpour in the past few days that dumped thousands of cubic metres of water into the Son La, Tuyen Quang, Hoa Binh, and Thac Ba reservoirs. To actively cope with rising water levels both upstream and downstream, the authority asked local departments to timely inform people, construction units, and investors involved in construction near the rivers about the discharge to ensure safety for people and property, and to prepare human resources and vehicles in advance for emergency rescue.
