The agreement reaffirms both parties' commitment to strengthening cooperation through news and program exchanges, as well as co-producing content for broadcast on each other’s television channels and digital platforms. The partnership is expected to serve as an important bridge bringing Vietnam closer to audiences across the region.
Ms. Tran Thi Thu Ha, Director of VTV's International Programs Department , shared that even before the Memorandum of Understanding was officially signed, Vietnam Today and TeleSUR had already maintained close cooperation in exchanging news content, especially during major events in each country. She added that the new agreement establishes a stronger and more sustainable framework that will further expand and deepen the relationship between the two media organizations.
TeleSUR President Patricia Villegas, President of TeleSUR, said the network hopes to strengthen its cooperation with Vietnam to promote the images of both countries, particularly by providing Vietnamese audiences with more information about Latin America. She also welcomed proposals from the Vietnamese side regarding co-production and information exchange.
Founded in 2005, TeleSUR currently operates multimedia platforms in Spanish, English, and Portuguese. In addition to its television channels, the network has a strong digital and social media presence. Its channels are currently available across the Americas, Western Europe, and North Africa.
At the Signing Ceremony, Ambassador Vu Trung My, Vietnam’s Ambassador to Venezuela, emphasized the importance of foreign affairs communication. He noted that the embassy has actively promoted connections between Vietnamese media organizations and expressed confidence that the cooperation between Vietnam Today and TeleSUR, as well as the future collaboration between Vietnam Television and Venezuelan television networks, will be beneficial and foster a better understanding between the people of both countries.
