The new season kicks off on August 15, 2025, and runs until May 16, 2026. It features 18 clubs, marking the second season that Ligue 1 has used a smaller team format to increase competitiveness. Matches will be scheduled from Friday evenings to Sunday, giving Vietnamese fans the chance to watch all nine games per round. Broadcasts will use international-standard feeds with Vietnamese commentary and localized content produced by VTVcab’s team to ensure that the excitement of French football is fully captured.
This season promises many highlights. Defending champions Paris Saint-Germain, the powerhouse of French football, will continue their title defense. The return of Lorient, Metz, and especially Paris FC after 46 years will bring fresh storylines, with the Paris derby between Paris FC and PSG sure to be one of the most anticipated matchups. Alongside PSG, other contenders for the title include Marseille under coach Roberto De Zerbi, experienced Monaco, pragmatic Lille, and youthful Nice and Lens.
In addition to live broadcasting, VTVcab also offers a rich content ecosystem on Ligue 1, including shows like “Ligue 1 Preview”, “Ligue 1 Highlights”, and “Ligue 1 Show”, as well as behind-the-scenes footage, on-pitch and locker room moments, and mid-season and end-of-season specials. Fans will be able to “live” with the league even when the ball is not rolling.
Alongside Ligue 1, VTVcab holds broadcasting rights to other top competitions such as the Champions League, Europa League, Europa Conference League, UEFA Super Cup, and Serie A, reinforcing its position as one of Vietnam’s leading sports content providers.
