VTV Times Officially Launches

VTV.vn - VTV Times has been issued a print and electronic media license No. 483/GP-BTTT on December 29, 2023.

On January 3, 2024, a ceremony was held at Vietnam Television (VTV) to announce the decisions to merge VTV News and Television Magazine into VTV Times.

At the ceremony, Mr. Le Ngoc Quang - Director General of VTV - handed over the decisions on merging VTV News and Television Magazine into VTV Times, effective from January 1, 2024. The decisions outlined the functions, tasks, powers and organizational structure of VTV Times, as well as the appointments of the Editor-in-Chief and Deputy Editors-in-Chief of VTV Times.

Accordingly, Ms. Vu Thanh Thuy was appointed as Editor-in-Chief of VTV Times, with Ms. Nguyen Thi My Hanh and Mr. Pham Quoc Thang as Deputy Editors-in-Chief.

Le Ngoc Quang stressed that the restructuring and reorganization of VTV News Online and Television Magazine into VTV Times for financial autonomy is necessary to meet the requirements and goals of the Party and the Government.

Director General Le Ngoc Quang urged VTV Times to continue to build on its achievements after the restructuring, work together to implement the goals, and strive to meet the requirements of a self-managing unit.

Mr. Le Ngoc Quang urged the leadership of VTV Times to maintain a spirit of unity, work together with innovative thinking and courage, and be willing to take responsibility.

On behalf of the editorial staff of VTV Times, Editor-in-Chief Vu Thanh Thuy expressed sincere gratitude to the leadership of VTV. She reiterated that VTV Times will continue to uphold the core values of VTV News Online and Television Magazine over the past nearly 30 years. With solidarity and collective efforts, we will strive to successfully complete our assigned tasks, she said.

VTV Times, born from the restructuring of VTV News and Television Magazine, officially started operations on January 1, 2024. Operating as a convergent editorial model, VTV Times is published on both electronic and print platforms in Vietnamese and English.

VTV Online, accessible at www.vtv.vn, remains a key platform in Vietnam Television's digital transformation strategy. It aims to provide "official - reliable - useful" information on various aspects of social life.
