From next March 31st, the transmission of VTV4 through satellite will be halted. Vietnam Television will cease the VTV4 broadcast through the satellites Thaicom5 (covering Asian and North African region), Eutelsat Hot Bird 13B (Europe), Hispasat 30W-5 (South America region), Galaxy 19 (North America). The Vietnamese people living abroad will no longer be able to watch VTV4 through satellite receivers.
Over the past 20 years, VTV4 has been the only TV channel of Vietnam which covers worldwide through satellite bringing Vietnam closer to millions of Vietnamese people living abroad, beside the domestic audience of millions.
From a TV show named Danh cho dong bao Viet Nam o xa To quoc (For the Vietnamese Who Are Away -1998), VTV4 has developed into a public channel which broadcasts 24/24h news, TV series, music, documentary, entertainment and so on to the world. With the motto “the audience first”, VTV4 has continuously improved its shows’ quality through listening and meeting the audience’s needs.
Holding up its mission of bringing Vietnamese value all over the world, VTV4 honors the culture, history, nation and people of Vietnam.
