The 2024 Annual South and Southeast Asia Media Alliance Annual Conference took place last week in the autonomous region of West Song Ban Nap, Yunnan Province, China.
The event was organized by the All-China Journalists Association, the Press Information Office of the People's Government of Yunnan Province, the Asia-Pacific branch of China Daily, and the South and Southeast Asia Regional International Media Communication Center of Yunnan Province, running from December 8 to December 12, 2024.
VTV introduces the On Air publication of the VTV Times at the 2024 South and Southeast Asia Media Alliance Annual Conference.
Several activities were held during the conference, including sessions where journalists from South and Southeast Asia shared their experiences in media cooperation over the past year, and the 3rd Yunnan International Media Forum (the "Elephant Forum"), which focused on promoting the traditional cultures of countries in the region, fostering people-to-people exchanges, strengthening the links between Yunnan, China, and participating countries, launching communication cooperation plans, expanding the media alliance, and creating new platforms for mutual learning among civilizations.
The event was attended by nearly 100 international journalists and representatives from more than 40 media organizations from Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, Myanmar, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Nepal, India, and over 10 central media units from China, all of whom are involved in the media alliance.
This is the first time that VTV has attended the event, seeking to explore collaboration opportunities with media partners in Yunnan Province, China, and other countries in the region.
During the conference, a representative from VTV introduced the VTV On Air publication of VTV Times at a media exhibition booth, drawing considerable attention from attendees and international media organizations.

Initiated by China Daily Asia-Pacific and the Yunnan International Media Communication Center for South and Southeast Asia in January 2024, the network now includes more than 100 media organizations from 12 countries, aiming to emphasize the importance of strengthening media exchanges and cooperation.
