This recognition by the world’s largest mobile app store not only acknowledges VTVgo’s national significance but also reflects criteria such as its provision by a reputable government agency, as well as its scale, audience reach, and public impact in the regions where the app offers services.
VTVgo, the national online digital television platform, currently boasts 47 million installations and over 1.6 billion views per year. In addition to its 68 television channels, the platform is planning to expand by adding paid TV packages, integrating public services, digital payments, interactive services, and affiliate marketing. These new developments will effectively meet citizens' and businesses' digital service needs.
Launched in 2014 to provide viewers with free access to VTV’s programs, VTVgo has since become a widely recognized application, used by tens of millions of viewers both in Vietnam and around the world. The app is available on all app stores for mobile devices and smart TVs, and with 47 million installations, it is consistently ranking among the most downloaded apps.
With coordination, support, and direction from the Ministry of Information and Communications, VTVgo has been integrated into smart TVs produced, imported, and distributed in Vietnam since 2024. Several major TV manufacturers have pre-installed the VTVgo app on the main interface of their TVs. According to Mr. Dinh Dac Vinh, Deputy General Director of Vietnam Television, VTV has also worked with TV manufacturers to introduce a shortcut for VTVgo on TV remote controls starting in 2024, making it more convenient for viewers to access VTVgo’s television programs.
