VINATOM - IAEA Collaborating Centre for Water and Environment launched

This is the first ever center in Vietnam and the third one in Asia. The center will focus on nuclear and isotopic techniques in integrated watershed and coastal area management. These techniques will be used to evaluate the water resource and environment assessment, monitoring, and management in Viet Nam. It will be the bridge for scientific exchange, research cooperation, facilities and expertise improvement between the Vietnam Atomic Energy Institute and the International Atomic Energy Agency. The two sides will cooperate in researching, organizing conferences, and meetings and also sponsor activities for nuclear and isotopic application in Vietnam and the ASEAN region.
