People gathered at August Revolution Square for the festivities in Hanoi. The pedestrian bridge at Ninh Kieu Wharf was the venue for Can Tho's celebrations. There were 2 other light shows on Pham Van Dong - Vo Nguyen Giap crossroads and Bach Dang - Nguyen Van Linh Interchange in Da Nang. Ho Chi Minh City had a different touch to their light shows at the Reunification Hall and the city hall with their 3D technology.
The show's color palette of red, blue and yellow symbolizes ASEAN unity. The idea came from the Philippines, the Chair of ASEAN in 2017. It's aimed at raising awareness about the significance of the ASEAN community.
