A historic flash flood ravaged Mu Cang Chai Town in Yen Bai Northern province one week ago and left the area with severe damage. Currently, local authorities are facing difficulties in solving the problems caused by the flood. Accordingly, local authorities have requested the evacuation of more than 50 households from Phin Ho village De xu commune to ensure their safety. However, the evacuation work has been slow due to the local H'mong people's tradition of cultivation. People are reluctant to move far away from their houses which are close to their fields. In order to relocate these people to safe shelters, a big sum of money is needed for land clearance.
