Addressing the event on February 2, Ambassador Pham Quang Vinh wished overseas Vietnamese a new year of happiness and prosperity.
He informed them of Vietnam’s new developments, thanking them for their sentiments towards the homeland and their contributions to the country’s growth and comprehensive partnership with the US.
Also on February 2, the Vietnamese Consulate General in Vancouver held a Tet celebration for overseas Vietnamese in the western provinces of Canada.
During the celebration, participants were treated to delicious traditional Vietnamese cuisines and special art performances.
On February 4, over 400 Vietnamese people living in the United Kingdom gathered with international friends at the Vietnamese Embassy in London to welcome the Year of the Dog.
Meanwhile, crowds of Vietnamese expats in the Macau Special Administrative Region of China also gathered for a Tet celebration on February 4. The region is home to over 20,000 Vietnamese workers.
The Vietnamese communities across the Czech Republic are holding celebrations throughout the first half of February, usually on the weekends when they can properly celebrate the occasion.
