Most of these arrivals are overseas Vietnamese returning home for Tet.
Flights from the US, France, and South Korea carried large numbers of returning Vietnamese. The number of Vietnamese visiting this year has increased, especially during the six weeks around the Lunar New Year.
Vietnam is welcoming an average of about 3,000 to 4,000 Vietnamese from abroad each day. The airport is advising people to limit pickups if not necessary to avoid congestion at the airport.
