Vietnamese consumers more confident

VTV.vn - Consumer confidence dipped in a number of ASEAN markets in the third quarter of this year but grew slightly in Vietnam, according to the latest Nielsen Global Survey of Consumer Confidence and Spending Intentions released on November 4.

The figure for Vietnam grew to 105 points, making the country one of the 10 most optimistic countries globally during the surveyed the period. The Philippines ranked third globally while Indonesia and Thailand came fourth and fifth, respectively. Vietnamese consumers surprisingly topped the charts in terms of savings globally at 78%. Increased focus on saving up to cover household expenses continues to be the top priority for Vietnamese.

Nielsen's survey polled more than 30,000 online consumers in 60 countries.
