There are several challenges to overcome. The first is an unbalanced sex ratio at birth, with many more boys than girls. The second is the worsened health conditions of people aged 60 and above, although the average life expectancy in Vietnam is 73.4. The third is the low Human Development Index growth rate. The last one is the poor trimester screening capability. If the number of children for each mother is kept at two, Vietnam's population will be 104 million in 2030.
