The ministry has targeted a cargo clearance time of less than 36 hours for exports and 41 hours for imports by 2020. By the end of 2016, the proportion of imported consignments that must go through specialist checks during customs clearance will be reduced from 35% to 15%. The ministry also announced to guarantee a 10% minimum cut in administrative procedures and a cut in the maximum tax payment period of 110 hours per year. These are part of the ministry's efforts to see Vietnam remain among top 50 economies for doing business.
