VTV.vn - One year after the Vietnam South Korea free trade agreement took effect, Vietnam has become the largest supplier of shrimp to South Korea, accounting in fact for nearly half of that country's total shrimp imports.

In the first quarter of this year Vietnam earned nearly 62 million USD from exports to South Korea, up some 31% year-on-year. According to the Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers, Vietnamese shrimp enjoys 10 percent import tax, which is lower than for its competitors like China, India and Ecuador. South Korea is the fifth largest market for Vietnamese shrimp after Japan, the EU, the US and China.
