The PM highly praised the vision of late Singaporean Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yew in connecting the two economies and encouraged Singaporean firms to invest in high-tech zones in Da Nang.
He said the Vietnamese government was committed to create a favourable investment environment for these projects. The Singapore Manufacturing Federation President Douglas Foo said that Singaporean investors wanted to invest in Vietnam in several areas, with a focus on Da Nang. He proposed that the city should be developed into a garden city like Singapore and could become a venue for international exhibitions and conferences.
