VTV.vn - The Ministry of Health has received more than 7.2 million doses of the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine for children aged from 5 to 12 as part of a donation from the Australian Government at a ceremony in Hanoi on May 10.

This delivery is part of Australia’s commitment to share 14 million COVID-19 vaccine doses with Vietnam, including 7.2 million Moderna doses and 7 million Pfizer doses in order to support Vietnam’s paediatric COVID-19 vaccine rollout.

Speaking at the handover ceremony, Deputy Minister of Health Do Xuan Tuyen extended his thanks to the Australian Government and people for their support towards Vietnam in its public healthcare, particularly in the prevention and control of COVID-19 pandemic.

For his part, Australian Deputy Ambassador to Vietnam Mark Tattersall stressed that Australia always works side by side with Vietnam in its battle against COVID-19.

The paediatric COVID-19 vaccine doses will help bolster Vietnam’s efforts to contain COVID-19, extending its vaccine rollout to protect younger people in Vietnam, assisting with its return to the new normal.
