Vietnam peacekeepers trained

Vietnamese peacekeeping officers were equipped with basic knowledge about peacekeeping missions.

At the training, the Golden West Humanitarian Foundation shared knowledge and experience on how to identify potential explosive devices or defuse explosive materials. These are useful experience for Vietnamese officers to continue their mission in South Sudan and the Central African Republic.

So far, 12 Vietnamese officials have been deployed for UN peacekeeping operations in South Sudan and Central African Republic. In 2017, Vietnam will send five more officers to replace for those who have finished their mission and keep engaging in UN peacekeeping missions in the coming time.
