The Deputy Prime Minister proposed that the two sides build a mechanism to ensure stricter control of investment in lakes, irrigation dams and hydropower dams in the border areas.
Minister Khammany Inthirath said that he had worked with Vietnamese agencies on developing hydropower projects in Laos, connecting electricity to the national grid and buying and selling electricity between the two countries.
At present, cooperation plans and several big projects have been agreed upon and will be submitted to leaders of the two countries for signing and implementation.
