At the meeting, State President Trương Tấn Sang highlighted that the visit would be an accelerator for trade and investment ties. For the past five years, Vietnam has successfully stabilised its macro-economy, kept inflation and foreign exchange rate under control. The State President emphasised Japan would continue to be an important partner for Vietnam in the years to come. He welcomed Japanese companies to participate in Vietnam's efforts to equitise state-owned enterprises.
Representatives of the International Friendship Exchange Council of Japan thanked the Vietnamese state president for his welcome and expressed his hope for the future of the bilateral ties.
