Vietnam hopes to push forward ties with US

VTV.vn - Vietnam has always considered the US one of its most important partners and wishes to push forward the practical and effective development of the bilateral comprehensive partnership between the two countries for the benefit of both peoples.

This was announced by Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc on August 3 during his reception in Hanoi for former US Vice President Al Gore. Apart from trade and investment, the PM expressed the hope that the two countries would further strengthen joint work in the development of clean energy. The PM also said that he hopes Mr. Gore would continue contributing to Vietnam-US ties to bring benefits to both nations.

On his part, Mr. Gore said that Vietnam's robust development has made important contributions to regional development. Speaking highly of Vietnam's potential for solar and wind power, he said he hoped both sides would step up collaboration in this field.
