VTV.vn - On Wednesday morning, the Symposium on Digital Citizenship and Safer Internet Day 2017 was held in Hanoi.

The event focused on the role of digital citizenship and introduced measures to help internet users, especially youngsters, be more cautious about online scams and how to avoid frauds. According to experts, internet-using habits such as exposing personal information when shopping online and using free wifi make people more susceptible to getting hacked. Their personal information may be stolen, their devices may be hacked and they may be affected by deceptive information. It is recommended that online safety habits should be taught to students in order to raise public awareness. People should also receive warnings when using free softwares and public computers while state agencies need to enhance technical measures to prevent online scams and impose stricter punishments for online frauds. 2017 is the first year Vietnam has held the Safer Internet Day, together with 120 countries around the world.
