The program involves exchanging information about clearing mines and UXO. This is the sixth time since 2016 that Vietnam and France have co-organized a program for exchanging information in the field of peacekeeping.
Currently, Vietnam still has more than 800,000 tons of unexploded ordnance or explosive materials left over from the war. Nearly 19% of the country still has landmines and UXO. Special exchanges with the French Ministry of Defense will help Vietnamese officers improve their ability to clear mines using international standards.
