On Monday, European Commissioner of Trade, Cecilia Malmstrom, and Vietnamese Minister of Industry and Trade, Tran Tuan Anh, officially completed the legal review of the EVFTA, and reached an agreement on all contents of the Investment Protection Agreement between Vietnam and the European Union.
The two agreements will soon be submitted to relevant authorities of both sides for further signing and subsequent ratification.
The EU is currently the third largest trading partner and one of the two largest export markets for Vietnam. EU investors have also been present in most of Vietnam's key economic sectors, focusing mostly on industry, construction, and several service sectors.
