Vietnam - EU trade discussed

There, they discussed issues pertaining to trade, investment collaboration, and bilateral relations between Viet Nam and the EU.

The Deputy PM thanked Commissioner Malstrom for directing the EU negotiation team to work diligently on the Viet Nam-EU free trade agreement (EVFTA), which was finalised on August 4. He said the signing of the EVFTA would promote bilateral ties and benefit both sides' business communities.

Commissioner Malstrom said that both sides would soon conclude negotiations on technical issues, including those on investment, which would allow the deal to be signed by the end of the year. The EU will also consider recognizing Viet Nam's market economy.
