This footage was played by Google at an international conference in 2014. The clips introduced Vũ Đại village's signature dish of braised fish. Nguyễn Bá Toàn’s manufacturing company was the sole representative of the Asia Pacific region to be chosen by Google.
Nguyen Ba Toan said: "The first criteria is that the company must be a successful advertiser. Second, the unique traits of the product must be favored by customers".
In the past, Bá Toàn was an engineer. During a business trip to Vũ Đại where he first tasted braised fish, he decided to switch careers, despite opposition from relatives and colleagues. It was the unique taste of the dish that changed his life.
"I didn’t get much response when I advertised in newspapers and flyers. Only when I began advertising online did the product become known. It reaches customers directly so it’s very effective", said Nguyen Ba Toan.
Since promoting the product on the Internet, Bá Toàn's braised fish production has multiplied by the dozen. Sometimes he sells up to 500 pots of braised fish. Vũ Đại village’s age-old specialty has become a bridge bringing elite Vietnamese cuisine to the world.
