At the meeting, the two ministers discussed a closer strategic partnership between their countries. Deputy Prime Minister Minh stressed that Singapore is always one of Vietnam's top trade and investment partners. The two leaders agreed to promote economic collaboration in various sectors including tourism and industry to make contributions to marine safety, peace, and stability in the region. The two sides were also determined to speed up the negotiation and signing of the agreement facilitating Vietnamese labour transfer to Singapore.
