At a meeting in Hanoi on Friday with representatives of news agencies of the Asia-Pacific region, Prime Minister Phuc applauded the role of journalism, including news agencies, in boosting social development and solidarity and fostering peace between nations.
He said that news agencies need to have official, accurate and quick information to deal with the risks of fake news.
According to Aslan Aslanov, President of the 44th Meeting of the Organization of Asia-Pacific News Agencies (OANA), participants discussed ways to deal with fake news and fact-checking, and improve trust in mainstream news.
