Vietnam assists Maldives in COVID-19 fight

VTV.vn - Vietnamese Ambassador to Sri Lanka Pham Thi Bich Ngoc on August 31 handed over US$20,000 as a gift from the Vietnamese Government to support the Government and people of the Maldives in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.

Addressing the hand-over ceremony in Colombo, Sri Lanka, Ngoc highlighted the fine development of Vietnam-Maldives relations over recent times, as well as the significance of the sincere assistance offered by the Vietnamese Government and people to the Government and people of the Maldives.

For his part, Maldivian Ambassador to Sri Lanka Omar Addul Razak expressed his deep thanks for Vietnam’s significant aid.

The gift is not only material support but also a great source of spiritual encouragement to the Maldives in this difficult pandemic period, he emphasised.
