The biennial event is co-hosted by the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists and the Fine Arts, Photography and Exhibition Department under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to review and honour creativity and photographic achievements in Vietnam over the past two years.
Entries to the contest should be based on today’s life, the Vietnamese land and people, national construction and defence, or honouring the good.
As this year’s exhibition is among activities held under the framework of the 2016 National Tourism Year honouring the Mekong River Delta, entrants are also encouraged to focus their works on exploring the land and people of the 13 provinces in the region.
Submissions can be single images or photo collections grouping five to eight pictures, and should have been taken over the past two years and not yet have been entered in a competition or exhibited at any competition or exhibition before.
The event is scheduled to open on National Day (September 2) in Rach Gia city, Kien Giang province.
Two gold, four silver and six bronze medals and 14 consolation prizes will be awarded to the most outstanding entries.
The gold and silver medallists of the event will be nominated to receive Ho Chi Minh Awards and the State Awards for Literature and the Arts.
