VTV.vn - Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan visited child patients at the National Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion in Hanoi on September 19, bringing them gifts on the occasion of the Mid-Autumn Festival.

She also joined the children at a programme celebrating the full-moon festival.

The Vice President emphasised that every child has dreams and each child's journey to realise their dreams is different, adding that children with health issues have to make more efforts to overcome physical pain and maintain their sense of optimism to cope with illness.

She hoped that the child patients would continue to stay resilient and cooperate with doctors and nurses during their treatment in order to soon return to a normal life with their families and grow up to fulfill their dreams.

She also called on doctors, nurses, benefactors and families to support and encourage the children during their treatment.

On the occasion, the Vice President met with medical staff of the National Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion, during which she hailed their achievements and efforts in preventing and controlling COVID-19 while maintaining regular health check-ups and treatment for their patients.

The Institute was also lauded for hosting many social activities, including voluntary blood donation events and activities to support children with serious diseases.

The Vice President expressed her hope that the Institute would conduct more new research and activities to further promote Vietnam's medical achievements in the region and the world while taking better care of people's health, particularly that of vulnerable groups including children.
