On the afternoon of March 16, the Organizing Committee of the 42nd National Television Festival (NTF) met with the judging panel in Quy Nhon City, Binh Dinh Province, ahead of the official competition evaluation.
The meeting was attended by Mr. Do Thanh Hai, Deputy General Director of Vietnam Television (VTV), Vice Chairman, and Head of the Organizing Committee of 42nd NTF; Mr. Le Quyen, Deputy General Director of VTV, Member of the Steering Committee of 42nd NTF; Mr. Nguyen Cong Son, Director of Binh Dinh Radio and Television Station, Deputy Head of the Organizing Committee of 42nd NTF; and Mr. Nguyen Dang Hoc, Head of the Program Department at VTV, Standing Deputy Head of the Organizing Committee of 42nd NTF. It is worth noting that 55 judges, including journalists, artists, and researchers, who evaluated the works across 11 competition categories.
During the meeting, the 42nd NTF Organizing Committee discussed the work schedule, judging criteria, and evaluation process with the jury members. Given the large number of entries and their lengthy durations, the judging panel will also conduct additional evening sessions to meet the festival’s schedule.
Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Do Thanh Hai warmly welcomed and expressed his deep gratitude to the 55 judges participating in this year's festival. The Vice Chairman and Head of the Organizing Committee shared that NTF is a gathering of television professionals nationwide, providing a platform not only to evaluate outstanding television works but also to reflect on the industry's future through professional seminars, technical discussions, and knowledge sharing sessions.
He pointed out: "We are pleased to see both continuity and renewal among the jury members. Alongside veteran journalists and artists who have participated in several festivals, we have welcomed many new judges, bringing fresh perspectives for a more objective and multi-dimensional evaluation of the works".
The Vice Chairman and Head of the Organizing Committee further stressed: "We expect the judges to all entries fairly and thoroughly. Beyond selecting the best works, the evaluation process will also provide the Organizing Committeewith insights that will help identify key issues and trends in television".
Speaking at the meeting, journalist Nguyen Thi Tuyet Chinh, Director of Phu Tho Radio and Television Station and a jury member for the Children’s Program category, affirmed that NTF is a highly professional award. Having served as a judge in previous festivals, she emphasized that the judging process remains objective, ensuring that the best works are recognized.
Meanwhile, People’s Artist and Director Nguyen Khai Hung, Head of the Television Drama Jury, stated that his panel had already reviewed the competing works and would continue deliberations over the next four days. He also expressed a desire to see new award categories introduced, particularly to recognize the contributions of actors and cinematographers.
